Psittacines -- WAC 246-100-201
Psittacines are defined as all birds of the order Psittaciformes to include parrots, macaws, cockatoos, lovebirds and parakeets. Coded leg band identification is required for all psittacines offered for sale or trade within Washington State. The code shall identify the breeder source and the individual bird. All transactions involving psittacines require records of acquisition and disposition.

Special sales or transfers require warning of psittacosis. A caution notice, AGR Form 3003, is available through the State Veterinarian's Office.
